♻️| SSE Renewables has selected STRABAG UK to undertake exploratory works for the planned pumped hydro storage scheme at Coire Glas.

Key Points:

👉 1,500MW proposed scheme

👉 The project will provide essential information on the nature of underground conditions.

👉 Findings will be used to inform the final decision on whether to proceed with the Coire Glas project.

👉 The tunnel created will be approximately 4m wide and up to 1km long

👉 Strabag UK is also one of four teams in the running for the civil engineering scope of the project.
