Head of Pre-construction

Salary: £110k + Car + Pension + Health + Bonus

The Role:

NEO are exclusively retained by one of our key clients, an established, leading and well renowned construction firm with experience in highways, rail, bridges, tunnelling, for their search for a Head of Pre-construction for their Highways business unit.

The Head of Pre-construction will form part of the senior management team with responsibilities for the business development and preconstruction function (excluding estimating).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage both Business Development and Bid preparation teams to ensure tenders are submitted on time.
  • Liaise with all relevant departments to ensure that all relevant parties are involved at the earliest opportunity and responses received in time with appropriate deadlines.
  • Ensure tenders are submitted in accordance with Group compliance matrices
  • Working with the Bus Dev Director, facilitate the strategic growth of business via identification and successful bidding of suitable opportunities, as well as identification of suitable partnering / joint venture opportunities that will enhance the business revenues and profitability.
  • Ensure that financially viable tenders are submitted as agreed with Managing Director.
  • Identify and propose strategic direction of growth through review of market sectors and client intelligence.
  • Ensure the Business Development and Preconstruction teams are adequately resourced and productive to achieve required outcomes.
  • Work with the estimating team to ensure the organisation is compiling intelligent and profitable pricing of contract opportunities and that quality and commercial submissions are mutually compatible.
  • Manage the budgets of Work Winning and Business Development departments.
  • Oversea and manage Client Relationship Plans.
  • Develop key client relationships.
  • Oversea the Corporate Communications strategy in conjunction with UK Corp Comms dept.
